Among the reasons why stupid/silly people shouldn’t attempt difficult crossword puzzles is that conversations like this can ensue:
Me – For 69 down the clue is “Bilingual Muppet”, and it’s a five letter word. The only bilingual muppet I can think of is “The Swedish Chef” and he’s not really bilingual either. He only speaks…
My husband, rudely interrupting me – Gibberish?
Me, feigning defensiveness – That’s not gibberish! It’s real Swedish!
Here I do the accent to the best of my ability and say, “Bork, bork, bork – bork, bork.”
After that, I can’t stop laughing and am no good for anything for a very long while.
THE END.
PS – Muppets rock.
PPS – Any ideas on a five letter word for “bilingual muppet?”
Ok, OK, I really do spend to much time on Google !!
Could the answer you were looking for be Rosita, the first bilingual Muppet from Mexico, introduced in 1991. She helps teach viewers Spanish and about her Mexican culture.!!
As for the Muppets, Animal has got to be my Fave !!
And prove your hubby wrong, go here for a “Chef” Translater.

I rented the Peter Sellers/John Cleese appearance on the Muppet Show (1977, I believe). Cleese was a muppet natural.
Ah well.. I was gonna say Miss Piggy knows French…*sniffles*
I know Rosita fits, but what about The Count? He has a non-English accent. He must speak another language.
Some things never change, like those of addicted to NT Times Sun x-word puzzles. 10/22/06, 78 across: bilingual muppet. Now if only I could remember the answer in 2004. Agree Swedish Chep is no bilingual and in fact a Swedish friend is highly in sulted at the stereotyping!
MY MOM IS DOING THE SAME CROSSWORD RIGHT NOW! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!!
Once again I got “unstuck”. Thanks to all of you who care to share such vital atatics with all of us crossword lovers!!!!
Okay, so the clue “reappeared” as 78 across in the NY Times Crossword Puzzle today. Rosita, being the only one that fits, must be the logical answer. Why am I doing this?
go to “the answer guys” website if you are doing the New York Times crossword. They have solutions to all the puzzles
So what was it anyway? I assume it wasn’t Rosita coz that has 6 letters
