Since it’s still Friday for an hour, here are my answers to the Friday Five questions.
1. Would you consider yourself to be an organized person? Why or why not?
I am not organized. I long to be organized and strive for it in my daily life, but it is always just beyond my reach. If I could keep the cookies just beyond my reach too, I could at least be thin and disorganized.
2. Do you keep some sort of planner, organizer, calendar etc. with you and do you use it regularly?
Uh, I used to ALWAYS carry a little calendar with me. I’d buy one in spite of the bland baby animal cover art. You know what I’m talking about? The little monthly calendar with a picture of some kittens in a basket or a sad bassett hound puppy? Hint…The puppy looks sad, because he couldn’t get a better gig than posing for this lame calendar cover. (Update on that puppy: He’s very well off and happy now. He’s one of the world famous poker playing dogs.)
3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?
Well, uh, I can at least see the desk underneath all the junk.
4. Do you alphabetize cds, books, and dvds, or does it not matter?
I do organize and alphabetize things like that. Like I said, I try to be organized. But, do they stay alphabetized? No, not for long. I love music, so cds don’t have much of a chance of staying in any kind of order. Books do to some degree, because a lot of books are only worth one read.
5. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to organize?
Oh, I think moving from one place to another is an organizational challenge. I always think moving will be easier if I box and label everything really specifically, and I’m super anal about it. But, you know, there are always those things that just refuse to be categorized – the items that are politically correct and don’t like “labels”. For example the change jar, the “junk drawer” and all the stuff my husband keeps around that I don’t even recognize. So, there is always some stuff that should probably be thrown out but inevitably gets tossed into a box labeled “What’s This Crap?”
